Dell inspiron 14R N4010 complete upgrade Hlo , I am having dell insiprion 14R N4010 model 2011. With 3gb ddr3 ram with 2 slot of 1333mhz speed. Hdd of 250gb.intel core i3 M370@2.40ghz. Actualy i want to complete upgrade of my laptop.and most important it is having very very heating effect and due to this heating my baatery is alao gone dead. But FYI I upgraded my Dell 4010 14R to an i7-640M Dual Core and it's working great.. No bios upgrade A13, no overheating issues and fan isn't coming on too often.. Also I put in an SSD drive and 8gb ram 4gb x 2. Runs windows 10 quite comfortably. Ps. 16gb 8gb x 2 did not work - caused windows to crash before getting to install screen. I am very happy. Hi, there is no need to upgrade motherboard. Just open it up, replace cpu.. Just buy a i7-640M off ebay and pop it in watch the youtube videos to see how to disassemble.. it's a little tricky. While in there, upgrade the harddrive to an SSD for a huge speed improvement. Hi Sitz, Thanks for your response. One of reason for my upgrade is that my motherboard seems to be not working. Based on some of the troubleshooting steps provided online, i figured it out. So can you please suggest a mother board too that will go along with the processor you meniotned and is compatible for N4010. Any thoughts on this will be helpful. There are two different boards for that system - one with Intel integrated video and the other with ATI AMD video. You can use either one, but will need to replace the heatsink assembly to change from integrated to ATI or vice-versa, as the heatsink for one won't fit the other. has the boards - as will Ebay or other vendors.
